The Japan-America Society of Indiana presents the annual Japan Update Conference providing a business and international relations outlook for the year, with discussion of developments for Japan and Indiana. This year’s program will look at possible roads forward through a wide landscape of issues including global supply chain challenges, workforce, transition to electrification, and manufacturing sustainability.  

The Keynote Corporate presentation will feature Fumiaki Hayata, Chairman and CEO of Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. and Corporate Executive Vice President, Chief General Manager, Overseas Sales & Marketing Division 1, Subaru Corporation. 

We’re pleased to welcome Consul-General of Japan in Chicago Hiroshi Tajima and Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers in their first remarks for the Japan-America Society of Indiana.

The session “Japan is #1: the Leading Foreign Investor in America and the Important Role of Local Governments” will include an overview by Ralph Inforzato, Chief Executive Director, JETRO Chicago

Presentations will showcase Japan-invested facilities in Indiana featuring Hitachi Astemo, Toyota Advanced Logistics North America & Bastian Solutions, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana

Brett Smith, Director of Technology for the Center for Automotive Research, will provide the Industry Update.
