The Japan-America Society of Indiana presents the tenth annual Japan Currents Symposium providing a business and international relations outlook for the year with key issues in the Japan-U.S. relationship and a manufacturing update.

We’re pleased to announce that The Honorable Eric Holcomb, Governor, State of Indiana, and The Honorable Kenichi Okada, Consul-General of Japan in Chicago, Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago will give greetings. 

 Join us for this year’s special online program featuring Prof. Mieko Nakabayashi in Tokyo and Amb. Kurt Tong in Washington D.C. discussing expectations, challenges, and opportunities for the alliance and the new administrations of President Biden and Prime Minister Suga, including recovery from the global pandemic, trade cooperation, and security in Asia.

John Bozzella of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation will give an industry outlook – what’s impacting automakers and the supply chain, how the industry has responded to the pandemic, and what to expect in the year ahead.

Program emcees will include Jim Riggs, President, NTN Driveshaft; Tim DeLong, Sr. Manager, Procurement, Subaru of Indiana Automotive; and Peter Kelley, President, National Association of Japan-America Societies. 

 The Japan Currents national series is presented in partnership with the National Association of Japan-America Societies with funding from the Embassy of Japan.
